What moves the price

Meal period is the biggest jump. The seafood bar is the reason: snow crab legs, oysters and crawfish are stocked far more heavily for evening service. The dinner rate buys a bigger spread, not the same food at a later hour.

Day of the week comes next. Weekend pricing sits above weekday pricing at both lunch and dinner. Monday through Thursday lunch is the window locals name most often for value.

Age does the rest. Seniors get 10% off, and kids step up toward the adult rate, usually reaching it around age 12. A family with two teenagers pays close to four adult prices. The kids, senior and family guide has sample totals.

What one price covers

A June 2024 Tripadvisor reviewer described lots of real crab in the shell at dinner, a working ice cream machine and a dessert table with fruit, gelatin and Asian cakes. It is the most detailed recent account of a dinner service we found.

Weekday lunch vs weekend dinner

The extra money at dinner is mostly paying for crab. If at least half your table eats crab and shellfish, dinner earns its price. If your group mostly eats noodles, fried chicken, sushi and dessert, weekday lunch gives you nearly the same meal for a lot less.

What is not included

• Drinks. Soft drinks, tea, beer and wine are billed on top of the buffet price.
• Tax and tip. Diners report no automatic service charge, so tipping is up to you.
• Food from the line to go. There is a posted $50 charge for leaving with buffet food.
• Party trays. Those are a separate counter order with their own prices.

Budget roughly $5 to $8 per person above the quoted price once drinks and tip are in. That gap is what catches first-timers, because the number on the phone or a review site is food only.

Two house rules worth knowing

The restaurant posts a 2-hour limit per table. On a quiet weekday nobody watches the clock. On a Saturday night with a line at the door, it applies, especially to big parties.

The $50 charge for taking food from the line is posted and enforced. If you want leftovers, order a tray at the counter instead.

Few South Bay buffets post their prices online. Tomi Sushi and Seafood Buffet at Eastridge in San Jose does, and its posted adult rates run from $26.99 at weekday lunch to $43.99 at weekend dinner.

• Use the 10% senior discount where it applies.
• Bring kids at lunch, when the age-based price is lowest.
• Take small plates and go back. Buffets can charge for heavy plate waste.

We did not find an active coupon from the restaurant as of October 2026. Coupon sites showing a generic percentage off are rarely honored at independent buffets. Timing is the real discount.
