About
An independent guide to Milpitas Buffet
Menu, prices, hours and dish-by-dish notes for the all-you-can-eat buffet on Abbott Ave, written for diners planning a visit.
Who runs this site
MilpitasBuffet.us is an independent visitor guide. It is not owned by, operated by or affiliated with Milpitas Buffet, the restaurant at 24 S Abbott Ave, Milpitas, CA 95035. We are an independent publisher covering local restaurants, and we built this site because the basics diners search for (menu, price per person, hours, what each station offers) were scattered across review sites and often out of date.
The restaurant's format is straightforward. Six areas run under one per-person price: a seafood bar built around snow crab legs, a sushi and cold bar, a grill cooked to order, a hot line of Chinese-American entrées, comfort food and sides, and a dessert station with self-serve soft serve.
Our information comes from the restaurant's published tray price list and public listings, photos, and a close reading of recent public diner reviews. Prices marked as guest reports are what diners say they paid, not an official rate card. When something changes, we update the page and the date at the top of each guide.

Who it suits
Groups that cannot agree
One person wants crab legs, another wants sushi, a third wants fried chicken. Nobody has to negotiate, and everyone eats at the same time instead of waiting on separate orders.
Families with young children
Fries, chicken nuggets and self-serve soft serve sit on the line next to the seafood, so children eat what they know while the adults work through the bar.
Seafood lovers watching the bill
Crab legs, whole crab, clams and mussels for one flat per-person price. It is the reason most first visits start at the seafood bar.
And what it is not
- A quiet dinner. The room is loud, especially on weekend evenings.
- Polished service. Staff are fast at clearing and refilling rather than attentive in a fine-dining sense.
- A fixed menu. Dishes rotate between shifts, so a specific item is never guaranteed.
How the buffet line runs
Everything on the buffet is cooked in the restaurant's kitchen through the shift. Seafood is steamed in rounds, fried items go out in small pans, and the grill only starts once a guest hands over a bowl. When a tray runs low, the next batch is usually already working behind the station.
Staff walk the floor constantly, clearing plates, refilling drinks and watching which trays need replacing. If something you want is empty, ask a server. Diners report that the next batch is rarely far behind.
Menus shift with the seasons, the market and what diners are eating that week. Call the restaurant at (408) 945-8888 if a specific item is the reason you are going.
